I’ve been working as a weight loss coach since 2018 on a one to one basis and from 2020, I do online coaching. You can work with me from anywhere and I help you every day with your meals and make sure you get to eat what you like.
I believe each client is unique and not everyone wants to live in the gym. You can be assured that workouts will be such that you enjoy it and something that you can do for the rest of your life. If you can only walk, great! I will cheer you on as you walk.
Once we start working together, I am just a call away. I will be your agony aunt; you can just vent out your weight loss related frustrations to me. I promise I will guide and motivate you and make sure you find this journey a happy one.
As a weight loss coach, I do not believe in restrictive diets. I believe in a healthy eating plan which includes your favourite foods. Most of my clients credit the increased self esteem and confidence to maintain healthy lifestyle and healthy weight they gain from my programme as one of the most valuable takeaways. I’ll tell you my story.
I’ve been overweight for a very long time… maybe from when I was 16 or 17. But I guess my weight never affected me negatively or positively or it’s just that I projected to the world that it never affected me. But from when I was 20, I’ve been on many crash diets and high intensity exercises…after a while I’d lose motivation and slack off. Once I lost 8 kgs, then 4 kgs once etc but somehow, I’ve always managed to put all that pounds back on. So, I wanted to find a method which can help me eat normal food, and lose weight and maintain the weight loss for ever.
I also wanted to do some activity which I was sure I would do for the rest of my life.I realized I will eat less when I have no time to think about food. I really think I turn to the wrong foods when I am bored and stressed and also realised negative self-talk is bad. So, I started working on those areas first. Positive thinking, believing I can do and positive affirmations helped. Then spirituality, needn’t necessarily mean religious- you can sit and meditate, listen to soothing music and de stress.
Even walking helped me, I channelled all my negative energy into walking and came back positive. Most of my lifestyle change involved getting up early in the morning and going for a walk. I knew I should do something I will enjoy doing and will surely do for the rest of my life.
After reading a lot on weight loss and testimonials of real people losing oodles of weight, I found that the most successful losers were the ones who watched their calorie intake. So I started learning about calories and especially calories in Indian food and learnt to calculate calories of my food and recipes. In less than a years’ time, I lost a lot of inches and weight. 30 kgs weight loss and huge inch loss.
I took many pictures… If it weren’t for those photos, I wouldn’t have realized how much losing 30 kg means. I always encourage my clients to take measurements and take pictures coz the scale can fluctuate and lie but your photos and measurements don’t lie.
So, why do I help others. I was bullied because of my weight. I never told anyone and I know there are a lot of people suffering silently. There was constant judgement but I showed to the world that I wasn’t bothered and wouldn’t take action. But after my 2nd pregnancy and delivery, my weight shot up and I was breathless and couldn’t do normal activities.
I had back pain, tiredness and would even sleep during the day. My blood results were all normal but I knew I wasn’t. that’s how I took charge of my life and lost weight eating normal food. After 8 years of maintaining my weight loss, I started helping my friends teaching them calorie counting and make sure they enjoyed the weight lost process. I know how it is to be heavy, I know how it feels to be bullied, I know the hopeless feeling, I know the kind of diets everyone does and stop because it is hopeless, but I also know how to take control of it all. I love helping people come out of their weight related problems and I help them to enjoy the whole process without feeling deprived and most importantly, teaches them to maintain the weight loss for life.
